Charles Winfred Ross, 80, of Goshen, Virginia died Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center in Fishersville.

He was born September 5, 1936 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Bernie Wilson Ross and Mary Frazier Ross.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Mr. Ross was retired truck driver with Guy C. Evers Excavating Corporation.

He was a former member of the Goshen Rescue Squad and the Staunton Moose Lodge.

Surviving are his daughter, Mary Campbell and her husband, Rodney of Staunton; a granddaughter, Lakyn and Steve Sheffer of Mount Solon; a great grandson, Porter Sheffer of Mount Solon; one brother, Donald "Buzz" Ross and his wife, Carolyn of Covington and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday February 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel.

The interment will be follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive their friends one hour before service time on Saturday at the Arritt Funeral Home, Covington.
