Obituary for Malvie Lodell Spencer Malvie Lodell Spencer
Lexington Resident Was First Baptist Church Member

Malvie Lodell Spencer, 95, of Lexington, Virginia, died Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born November 11, 1921 in Lexington, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late William Edward Mackey and Carrie Virginia Beale Mackey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Spencer Sr.

Mrs. Spencer was a member of the First Baptist Church and is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are her nine children: Lenora Harrison, Charles Spencer Jr., Warren Jett all of Maryland, Adrien Biggs, Marceline Dates, Rhonda M. Spencer, William P. Spencer, all of Virginia; Ronald P. Spencer of Texas, Alex J. Spencer of Georgia; one brother-in-law, William Spencer; one sister-in-law, Pat Mackey; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Earl Pendleton and Pastor Stephanie Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
