Obituary for Mary Lou Hoover Crawford Mary Lou Hoover Crawford
Former Clifton Forge Resident Was Central United Methodist Church Member

Mary Lou Hoover Crawford, age 83, of Lexington Court Nursing Home, 1776 Cambridge Drive, Richmond, Virginia, formerly of Clifton Forge, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at the nursing home.

She was born December 21, 1933 in Covington, Virginia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Hoover.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and was a member of Central United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed spending time on the Cowpasture River at the family camp at Sharon, and loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Ray Crawford.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane Kanode and husband, Reverend Roy Kanode of Roanoke; two sons, Richard Ray Crawford of Clifton Forge and David Crawford and wife, Kathy of Richmond; nine grandchildren, Patrick Ray Crawford, Amanda Kanode-Ensling and husband, Steve, Steven Kanode, Austin Kanode, Michael Crawford, Emily Crawford, Ashley Crawford, Caitlin Crawford, and Jack Crawford; a great granddaughter, Mayah Crawford; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor, with Reverend Roy Kanode officiating.

Interment will immediately follow. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
