Obituary for Melvin Glenn Anglin Melvin Glenn Anglin
Korean War Veteran Was Past President Of Local 675 The United Steel Workers Union

Melvin Glenn Anglin, 72, of Covington, Virginia died Sunday evening, February 12, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born February 8, 1945 in Beckley West Virginia, a son of Mary Fotos Anglin of Clifton Forge and the late Robert Glenn Anglin.

He served his county with the United Sates Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Anglin retired from MeadWestvaco as store room clerk.

He was a past president of the 675 United Steel Workers Union.

He was a member of the Solid Rock Ministries Church and the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Paula Nester Anglin of Covington; two daughters and sons-in–law, Tammie Looney and her husband, Alan of Covington and Angela Reynolds and her husband, Chris of Daleville; three grandchildren, Austin Looney, Alex Looney and Stella–Claire Looney, all of Covington; a brother, Larry Anglin and his wife, Janet of Covington; nephew Larry Wayne Anglin of Covington; great niece, Koedi Anglin and a great nephew, Josh Anglin, both of Covington.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Solid Rock Ministries Church with the Rev. Pam Irvine officiating.

Entombment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park Mausoleum with graveside rites being conducted by the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033.

The family will receive their friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Solid Rock Ministries Church.
