Paul Louis (Pappy) Thorne, age 73, of 504 Douglas Street Clifton Forge, Virginia died Monday, February 13, 2017 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor.

He was born August 30, 1943 in Puerto Rico, a son of the late Kenneth and Mary Thorne.

He was a driver for Hall Transfer and Storage Co. in Clifton Forge, a member of the Clifton Forge Moose Lodge #1683, and the BPOE #1065.

He is survived by his wife, Patty Thorne, of Clifton Forge; two daughters, Donna Cuevas and husband, Jose of New Jersey and Debra Thorne of Clifton Forge; three sisters, Patricia Rayburn, Kathy Klinetob, both of New Jersey, and Evelyn Camacho of Puerto Rico; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher, Courtney, Matthew, and Nicholas; a special friend, Wayne Bocook; a number of nieces and nephews; and his two companions, Mia and Ruby.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mausoleum of Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor with Reverend Lynn Wright officiating. Entombment will immediately follow.

The family will receive friends on Friday morning, at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
