Registered Nurse Was Clifton Forge Rescue Squad, Greenwood Evangelical Presbyterian Church Member

Lauren Whitney Fix Arrington, 28, of 1831 S. Carpenter Drive, Covington, Virginia went into the arms of her savior on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Lewis Gale Hospital – Alleghany.

Mrs. Arrington was born November 9, 1988, in Roanoke a Daughter of William "Billy" Fix, Jr. and Edie Sizemore Fix of Covington.

She was an honor graduate of Covington High School, a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Jefferson College of Health Sciences, received her degree from Dabney S. Lancaster Community College and was a registered nurse.

Lauren was a Nationally Registered Board certified licensed paramedic and a member of the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad. She was a member of Greenwood Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

She loved sports, especially watching Logan play football, to craft and cook and enjoyed spending time with her nephews, Sy and Mason.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Aubrey "Gene" Sizemore and William "Sonny" Fix, Sr., an aunt, Donna Dudley, and her father-in-law, Phillip Hicks.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Ray Arrington, her sister and her fiance, Hollie Fix and Josh Feury; brother, Logan Fix; grandmother, Mary Margaret Sizemore; nephews, Sy Wolfe and Mason Wolfe and Aunts, Lorri Batten and husband, John; and Jeanne Smith and husband, Tony; three cousins, Courtney Smith, Nikki Lowry and husband, Anthony, and Brey and Janna Batten, all of Covington; a cousin, Norman Dudley of Buchanan; and a number of close friends.

The funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in the Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. William M. Hartsfield officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.

A private interment will be made in the family cemetery.

The family suggests that donations in Lauren's name be made to the March of Dimes, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 102-A; Roanoke, VA 24018 or to St. Jude's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
