Longtime Registered Nurse Was First Assembly Of God Church Member

Annie May Duncan Kelly, (affectionately known as "Ole Woman" by her husband), age 59, of Clifton Forge, Virginia passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke.

Annie was born on October 10, 1957 in Roanoke to the late George William and Gloria McFarland Duncan.

She attended and graduated with honors from Clifton Forge High School on 1977. She later earned a degree in nursing from Dabney S. Lancaster Community College.

Annie was a Registered Nurse for twenty-nine years and was currently employed at The Carrington Place in Daleville.

Annie was of the Pentecostal faith and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Clifton Forge.

In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by an infant sister, as well as two other sisters, Cindy Duncan and Hope Felty.

Annie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Steve Kelly (who Annie affectionately called "Ole Man") of Clifton Forge; a daughter, Kristen Brown and husband, Jason of Clifton Forge; a brother, George Duncan, Jr. of Roanoke; three sisters, Regina VanBuren and life partner, John Pope of Williamsburg, Georgia Evans and husband, Willie of Covington, and Angela Graham and husband, Willie of Hot Springs; a grandson, Coy Brown of Clifton Forge; one brother-in-law, Mike VanBuren of Williamsburg; special cousin, Debbie Smoot Hyler; six nephews; three nieces; and a large number of cousins and extended family.

The family would like to give special thanks to four ICU nurses on the ninth floor at Carilion RMH, Berrie, Casey, Danny, and Meredith.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Pastor Teddy Bias officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.

Pallbearers will include Jason Brown, Willie Evans, Willie Graham, Caleb Graham, Coy Brown, Willie Evans, Jr., and Jacob Graham. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 -l 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, and also following the service at the home of Jason and Kristen Brown, 981 Callie Mines Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia.
