Mrs. Irene Doss Lockhart, age 91, of Covington, Virginia, died May 4, 2017 at the Woodlands Nursing Home Clifton Forge.

She was the wife of the late Edward Lee Lockhart.

She was born October 14, 1925 in Renick, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Charlie Rolen Doss and Margaret Dorman Doss.

Mrs. Lockhart was a graduate of Renick High School Class of 1944.

She was a member of Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and the Busy Workers Sunday School Class.

She is survived by one daughter, Jean Lockhart Jennings and husband, James; two sons, Charles Clayton Lockhart and Edward Brent Lockhart of Covington; one daughter in law, Amie Lockhart of Albany, GA; one sister, Frances Lucille Doss of Covington; six grandchildren, Adrienne Jennings Kock and husband, Brian, Jamie Jennings and husband, Drew Butler, Jeremiah Lockhart and wife, Jennifer, Rachel Hutchison and husband, Ryan, Luke Lockhart and Eli Lockhart; four great grandchildren, Hattie, Ava, Mickey and Lock.

In addition to her husband, Edward Lee Lockhart, she was preceded in death by her parents and a son, David Allen Lockhart.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 at Edgemont Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church with Rev. Donnie Bowker officiating. Interment will follow in Persinger Memorial Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Jeremiah Lockhart, Drew Butler, Brian Kock, Ryan Hutchison, Randy Doss and Bruce Doss.

The family will receive friends from 2.00 p.m. until service time at Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and at other times, at the residence of Jean and James Jennings, 658 Overlook Drive, Covington.

The family suggests that contributions take the form of contributions to Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 2306 South Church Ave., Covington, Va. 24426.
