Obituary for Marie Terry May Marie Terry May
Former Homestead Employee Was Falling Spring Resident

Marie Terry May, 82 of Falling Spring (Covington, VA) passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on April 14, 1935 in Bath County.

She was the daughter of the Charles Ernest Terry and Daisy Doyle Terry, both of whom preceded her in death.

She was employed by the Homestead Hotel for many years and was a loving mother and grandmother.

In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and tending to her flower gardens. She loved to take long rides in the country and observe nature and the Lord's creation.

Mrs. May is survived by her loving husband, Billy of 59 years, who was also a wonderful caregiver to her; her daughter, Margie Ryder and husband, Danny of Falling Spring; grandchildren, Caileb and Caitlen Ryder and Fiancee, Brad Bailey, all of Falling Spring; brothers, Tommy Terry and Lowell Terry and wife, Anna Gale; sisters, Carol Waybright and husband, Elmer, and Linda Hodge and husband, Stephen. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday May, 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.

The family will receive their friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time.

The interment will follow at Alleghany Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be John Colaw, Jim Lindsay, Wayne Winebriner, Danny Ryder, Caileb Ryder, Brad Bailey, Timmy Hodge, and Glen Lowry.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that all contributions be made to Mountain Regional Hospice at P. O. Box 637 Clifton Forge, VA 24422, or Ashwood United Methodist Church at 5674 Sam Snead Highway, Hot Springs, VA 24445, or a charity of your choice.

The Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
