Obituary for Samuel Allen Stinespring Samuel Allen Stinespring
U. S. Army Veteran Worked With Plecker Construction Company

Samuel Allen Stinespring, age 83, of 188 Wild Cat School Road, Millboro, Virginia, died Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem.

He was born October 17, 1933 in Bath County, Virginia, to the late Kenneth Jonathan Stinespring and Violet McCune Stinespring.

He served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, and was retired from Plecker Contstruction in Staunton.

He attended Westminster Chapel in Bath County, and enjoyed hunting, gardening, and NASCAR.

He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fay Kennedy Stinespring in January of 2008; two sisters, Yvonne Stinespring and Regina Grimm; and a brother, Robert Stinespring.

He is survived by four daughters, Becky Liptrap and husband, Ronnie, Bertha Robertson and husband, Billy, and Connie Liptrap and husband, David, all of Warm Springs, and Tammy Stinespring of Millboro; three sons, Rocky Stinespring of Millboro, Mike Stinespring and wife, Tammy of Millboro Springs, and Randy Stinespring and wife, Jennifer of Millboro; two sisters, Gloria Stinespring and husband, Joe Hyler of Millboro and Jerry Lee Campbell and husband, Frankie of Hot Springs; two brothers, Ira Stinespring and wife, Helen of Scott Depot, WV, and Wiley Stinespring of Millboro; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and his dog, "Laker".

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Calvary Memorial Cemetery, Millboro, with Pastor Billy Robertson officiating. Interment will follow.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, and other times at the residence, 188 Wild Cat School Road, Millboro.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is handling arrangements. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Calvary Memorial Cemetery Fund, C/O Bruce Wigglesworth, 10474 Deerfield Road, Millboro, VA 24460.
