Eagle Rock Homemaker Dies At Age 92

Alma Agee McCulley, age 92, of 75 Blue Cedar Trail, Eagle Rock, Virginia, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.

Alma was born September 1, 1924 in Bedford to the late Hubert Miller Agee and Jesse Carter Agee.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and attended Bethel United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard McCulley; a daughter, Nancy Tuck; a sister, Marion Heath; three brothers, Charlie Agee, Melvin Agee, and Ed Agee; a brother-in-law, Reverend Everett McCulley; three sisters-in-law, Earline Agee, Nellie Cox, and Juanita Clemons; and a grandson, Gerald Miller McCulley.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Bowyer and husband, Calvin of Bedford; two sons, Clifford McCulley and wife, Lynn of Eagle Rock, and Jerald McCulley and special friend, Ina Gail Bowers; a son-in-law, Fred Tuck of Bedford; two sisters-in-law, Josie Duncan and husband, Jim of Charleston, WV and Sue McCulley of Verona; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special nephew and his wife, James and Martha Agee.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Earl Ragland officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Botetourt County.

Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to The American Cancer Society in Alma's memory.
