Obituary for Ronald Lee Kern Ronald Lee Kern
Pennsylvania Native Was Gala Industries Retiree

Ronald Lee Kern, age 64, of Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Monday, June 5, 2017 at LewisGale Hospital – Alleghany, Low Moor.

He was born on June 7, 1952 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, to the late Matthew Brown Kern Jr. and Betty Biddy Kern.

He graduated from James River High School in 1970 and was retired from Gala Industries as a shipping/receiving clerk.

He was a former member of the Clifton Forge Moose Lodge and was a dedicated Philadelphia Eagles Fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Kern in 1995.

He is survived by a daughter, Heather Nicole Kern of Alexandria; two sisters, Susan Kern of Covington and Linda Scruggs of Clifton Forge; three brothers, Kenneth Kern of Pottstown, PA, Timmy B. Kern of Eagle Rock, and John Kern of Roanoke; a number of nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will be private. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 720295, Oklahoma City, OK 73172-0295.
