Peggy Cook Brookman, 56, of 6102 Potts Creek Road, Covington, Virginia, died Sunday, June 18, 2017 at her residence.

She was born July 10, 1960, a daughter of Larre Walton Cook of Covington and the late John Albert Cook, Sr.

Mrs. Brookman was a member of the Mill Branch Church of God of Prophecy.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ricky Brookman of Covington; one son, Randy Paxton, Sr. of Greenville, TN; one step daughter, Christy Lanahan of Clifton Forge; two step sons, Ricky Brookman, Jr. and Robert W. Brookman, both of Covington; 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; four sisters, Virginia Shinault and husband, Ernest; Sharon Kirk; Sheila Cook and Dianne Ward and husband, Frank, all of Covington; one brother, John A. Cook, Jr. of Covington and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Brookman, James Brookman, Mitchell Brookman, Randy Paxton, Allen Cook and Albert Cook.

The family will receive friends Wednesday June 21, 2017, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia.
