Obituary for Forest G. (Suicide) Holt Forest G. (Suicide) Holt
World War II Navy Veteran Was Retired Maintenance Worker

Forest G. (Suicide) Holt, 92 of Ronceverte, West Virginia, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 at Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg.

He was born February 19, 1925 at Ronceverte, a son of the late Henry and Rosie Holt.

Suicide was a retired maintenance worker for Greenbrier County Board of Education, was an active member of Ronceverte Presbyterian Church, and was a volunteer fireman with Ronceverte Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

Mr. Holt was also a World War II Navy veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betsy "Betty" Armstrong Holt on May 8, 2017; a daughter, Linda VanMetre and eleven brothers and sisters.

He is survived by a son-in-law, Jim (Cathy) Van Metre of Lewisburg; two granddaughters, Karen (John) Arbuckle of Lewisburg and Judy (Timothy) Poore of Richmond, VA; three great-grandchildren, Jaelynn Parks and her boyfriend, Evan Canterbury, Tori Parks and Samuel Poore; one step-great grandchild, Cody Arbuckle; a sister, Doretha Halsey of Virginia and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Pastor Stephen Baldwin officiating. Private interment will follow at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg.

A visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the funeral home in Lewisburg.
