Blue Sulphur Springs Church Of God Member Dies At Age 92

Ida Lee Garten, The Queen of Our Hearts, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 2, 2017 following a short illness.

Ida is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ray Garten; daughter, Devena Patton; a grandson, Daniel Chamberlin; sisters, Lucille Kirby, Maggie Turner and Julie Raines; brothers, Bud, Clifford, Jack and Jennings Raines.

Born on June 1, 1925, she was the daughter of Allen Andrew Raines and Sarah Elizabeth Hodge Raines.

Ida was a member of the Blue Sulphur Springs Church of God and a homemaker.

Survivors are two daughters, Drema Martin of Quinwood, Kimberly (Eric) White of Quinwood; one son, Ronald (Beverly) Garten of Richlands, NC; sister, Pansy Grimmet of Rainelle; grandchildren, Ronnie, Jason, Matthew Gartin and their wives, Melissa, Donna and Christopher Patton; great grandchildren, Cierra Shawver, Nevada Shaver, Emma Nutter, Trenton White, Finnley Garten, Ezra Fugate and baby Devena.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville with Rev. Frank Jones officiating. Friends may call at the cemetery from 1:30 p.m.until time of service.
