Obituary for Wendle Delano Bane Wendle Delano Bane
Former Army Paratrooper Worked With Sears, Shenandoah Valley Health And Rehab Center

Wendle Delano Bane, 79, of Glasgow, Virginia, passed away while in the loving arms of his wife of 55 years.

He entered Heaven on July 20, 2017.

Wendle was born in Collierstown on July 26, 1937.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lucinda and Philander Bane; and a sister, Shirley Ferguson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Chirstine Wallace Bane; son, Barry Bane, and wife, Candy; son, Joey Bane and wife, Kim; three grandchildren, Christopher and Ryan Bane and Chase Fauber; three great-grandchildren, Carter, Gabriel and Michael Bane; two brothers, Sheridan and Daniel Bane. Wendle is also survived by one special foster daughter, Ellen VanNatten; and one special niece and walking partner, Sherry Bennington.

After serving his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, Wendle retired after 27 years with Sears and Roebuck. He later retired after 12 years of service with Shenandoah Valley Health and Rehab Center.

A memorial service will be held at Mount Zion Methodist Church 4 p.m. Monday July 24, 2017 with the Rev. Lucy Hughes officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A Roanoke, VA 24018.
