Obituary for Violet Redman Rose Violet Redman Rose
Former Industrial Rayon Employee Was Highland Chapel Christian Church Member

Violet Redman Rose, 94, of 5609 Bens Run Road, Covington, Virginia, died Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the Woodlands Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge.

She was born November 29, 1922 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Jacob Benson Redman and Etta Pearl Bush Redman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Sizemore in 1971; her second husband, Junior Rose in 1991; one daughter, Donna Sizemore, and also by five brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Rose was employed by the former Industrial Rayon Corp. for 18 years.

When Violet was younger, she enjoyed going to the beach with different members of her family. She enjoyed attending church worship services at Highland Chapel Christian Church. Every year she looked forward to going to the Redman family reunion.

Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Leitch and her husband, Jack, Paula Dawes and her husband, Jim, all of Covington; and Jean Fisher of Winchester; her step daughter, Carol Bradshaw and her husband, Gene, of Covington; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; her sister, Adena Tingler, of Covington and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.B. Broughman officiating, assisted by the Rev. Bill Gilliland.

Interment will made in Lone Star Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.

The Family suggests that memorial donations in Mrs. Rose's name be made to either Highland Chapel Christian Church or to First Christian Church.

The Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
