Obituary for Betty Jean Liptrap Mace Betty Jean Liptrap Mace
Former Homestead Housekeeper Dies At Age 84

Betty Jean Liptrap Mace, 84, of Hot Springs, Virginia, passed Monday, August 14, 2017 at Bath Community Hospital.

She was born October 17, 1932 in Bath County, the daughter of the late Dudley Pinkard Liptrap and Florence Brown Keyser.

Betty was retired from the Homestead Resort, where she worked in housekeeping.

She was a member of the Methodist Church her whole life.

Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who will be missed by her family. She liked to sit on the porch and greet everyone, as well as her puzzle books, flowers, and wind chimes.

Betty is survived by her children: Donald Mace, Jr. and wife, Katie of Eagle Rock, Ray Mace and wife, Tammy of Covington, Danny Mace and wife, Dawn of Beltsville, Maryland, Tammy Hupman of Hot Springs, Joann Bowen and husband, David of Covington; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters: Leona Phillips of Eastlake, Ohio, Mary Wolfe of Roanoke, Margaret May of Hot Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Elmo Mace, Sr., and her daughter, Donna King.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Virginia Chapel with Donald Lee Altizer officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Doris Via Foundation in lieu of flowers.
