Obituary for John C. Heslep John C. Heslep
Former Fairfield Resident Was Korean War Bronze Star Recipient

John C. Heslep, age 86, of Richmond, formerly of Fairfield, Virginia, died on Sept. 21, 2017.

Born on Feb. 5, 1931, in Fairfield, he was the son of the late Hunter L. Heslep and Edna M. Heslep.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hunter C. Heslep Jr.

John served in the Korean War (1953-1954) and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.

He attended Virginia Tech and graduated with a business degree in 1968. He enjoyed a long time career with Henrico County in the treasury division. He also enjoyed his retirement years with Wal-Mart. More recently, with fading health, he was a resident at Sunrise Assisted Living of Richmond.

He is survived by his brother, Donald B. Heslep and wife, Josephine M. Heslep; and two nephews, Mark C. Heslep and Donald B. Heslep Jr.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2017at Timber Ridge Cemetery in Lexington.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
