Mary Lou Bowden, 87, of Alderson, West Virginia, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea.

Mary Lou was born July 7, 1930 in Gap Mills to the late Harvey Lee and Mabel Sarver Croy.

Other than her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and Homer Croy.

Mary Lou was a member of the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church and was a retired salesperson, having worked at Aides and Magic Mart.

Survivors include daughter, Carol Sue Bobbitt and husband, Butch of Orange County, VA; son, Jim Bowden and wife, Carolyn of Frankford; grandchildren, Eric (Stephanie) Bobbitt of Orange County, VA, Darrell (Trish) Bobbitt of Orange County, VA, Anthony Bowden of Alderson, Amanda (Shane) Wheeler of Willow Wood (Hinton); great grandchildren, Christopher Bobbitt, Courtney Bobbitt, Hunter Bobbitt and Corey Bobbitt all of Orange County, VA; great great grandson, Remington Bowden of Alderson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Pence Springs Community Church with Pastor Roger Persinger and Pastor Dr. Bill Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Pence Springs. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
