Obituary for Allen Watts Taylor Allen Watts Taylor
Lynchburg Native Was Retired Carpenter, Furniture Refinisher

Allen Watts Taylor, 83, of Covington, Virginia, and formerly of Fredericksburg, went to be with the Lord Friday September 29, 2017 at Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor.

He was born March 21, 1934 in Lynchburg, Virginia, a son of the late Leonard and Honor Belle Taylor Smoot.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Gassaway Taylor in 1981, three brothers, two sisters and a special friend, Virginia Ann Freeman.

Mr. Taylor was a retired carpenter and a furniture refinisher.

Surviving are his five daughters, Debra Lynn Harding and her husband, Michael of Mesa, AZ; Honor Taylor Hartsfield and her husband, Rev. William Hartsfield of Covington; Barbara Joan Brooks of Richmond; Virginia "Ginny" Fishback and her husband, Henry of Bealeton, VA and Elizabeth Gage of Ashburn, VA; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Taylor of Clearwater, FL and one sister, Bunny Routon of Lynchburg; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, October 2, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William M. Hartsfield officiating.

Following the service, the family will receive friends at the funeral home.

The interment will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Ivy Hill Cemetery in Alexandria, VA.
