Obituary for Stephen Edgar Tolley Stephen Edgar Tolley
Goshen Resident Dies At Age 77

Stephen Edgar Tolley, of Goshen, Virginia, died Sunday, October 1, 2017 at The Woodlands Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge.

Mr. Tolley was born December 11, 1939 at Goshen in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Harvey and Zelda Tinsley Tolley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Tolley.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War with the U S. Army. He retired in 1980 as a supervisor with the former Hercules, Inc. plant in Covington.

He was a member of Central Advent Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Edwards Tolley of Goshen; his daughter, Karen Craft and Scott McIntyre of Covington; two grandsons, Ethan Craft and wife, Anisha, of Richmond and Cody Craft of Roanoke; one brother, James Tolley of Powhatan; one sister, Charlotte Wolfe and husband, Buddy of Luray; his son-in-law, Wesley Craft of Clifton Forge; his pet dog, Lucky; caregivers, Lisa Richards and Amber Landrum and several nieces and nephews, including a special caregiver, Michelle Jolly of Goshen.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

The funeral service will be held Thursday evening, October 5, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Ayers officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Arritt Funeral Home.

The family suggests that donations in Mr. Tolley's name be made to the Alleghany Humane Society, P. O. Box 60, Low Moor, VA 24457.
