Obituary for Katherine (Kitty) Terrell Wood Katherine (Kitty) Terrell Wood
Millboro Native Was FBI Retiree

Katherine (Kitty) Terrell Wood, 95, widow of Harry Eugene Wood, formerly of Arlington, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017 in Shenandoah Nursing Home.

She was born Oct. 1, 1921 in Millboro, a daughter of the late Robert B. and Nellie Whitmore Terrell of Rockbridge Baths.

Prior to retirement, Mrs. Wood was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with 37 years of service.

She was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Arlington and St. John's United Methodist Church in Staunton.

She was a member of the Arlington Women's Club and the Wolf Trap Foundation of Vienna.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Brogan; and a nephew, Bob Brogan.

Family members include sisters, Blair Wade and husband, Jim, of Blacksburg, formerly of Raphine, Ellen Wilhite and husband, Phil of Milboro; nephews and their spouses, David and Lisa Brogan of Lexington, Frank and Betty Wade of Staunton, Chip and Jackie White of Augusta, Ga., and David and Missy White of Augusta, Ga.; a niece, Libby Wade and husband, Dale Clymer, of Riner; and numerous great nephews and nieces and great, great nephews and nieces.

A graveside service was conducted Monday, Oct. 2 in Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington by Pastor Ed Walker.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 1500 North Glebe Road, Arlington, VA 22207; Wolf Trap Foundation, 1624 Trap Road, Vienna, VA 22182, or St. John's United Methodist Church, 1716 N. Augusta St., Staunton, VA 24401.
