Former Fishman's Department Store Employee Was Longtime Sacred Heart Catholic Church Member

Shirley Watson Post, 84, of 816 Oneida Trail, Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, October 5, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Post was born January 12, 1933 in Covington, a daughter of the late Burlen T. Andrews and Anna Bradley Watson Andrews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Post in 1997 and also by one brother, Timmy Watson, and one sister, Barbara Watson.

She was an employee of the former Fishman's Department Store in Covington.

She was a longtime member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Covington Womans Club.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Tim Sparks of Covington; her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Post, Jr. and Jennifer of Piedmont, CA; four grandchildren, Heidi Sparks and Landon Sparks, both of Covington, and Abigail Post and Sally Post, both of Piedmont, CA; two step grandchildren, Joseph Sparks and T.J. Sparks, both of Covington; one step great grandchild, Ainsley Sparks of Covington; her sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Hershel Andrews of Covington; her sister-in-law, Sandy Watson of Covington, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Collins officiating.

Interment will be made in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

A Rosary Service will be held Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home. Following the Rosary, the family will receive friends at Arritt Funeral Home.

The family suggest that donaton in Mrs. Post's name be made to Mountain Regional Hospice, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
