Obituary for Glenn Junior Hyler Glenn Junior Hyler
Korean War Veteran Was Retired Wastewater Treatment Employee In Clifton Forge

Glenn Junior Hyler, age 85, of 1263 Commercial Ave, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born October 11, 1931 in Clifton Forge to the late Sencker W. Hyler and Zella Caldwell Hyler.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a retired wastewater operator for the City of Clifton Forge Treatment Plant.

He loved hunting, fishing and was a good husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all whom he met.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Hyler; a son, Barry A. Hyler; a brother, Lynn Francis Hyler; a sister, Joan Mae Reynolds Nicely and one great grandchild.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Dunbar Hyler; two sons, Timothy W. Hyler and wife, Jeanie of Covington, and Bruce W. Hyler and wife, Jill of Millboro; a daughter in law, Sarah Hyler, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Reverend Gordon Hammond officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge with military graveside rites provided by the Curtis A. Smith VFW Post 1033.

The family will visit with friends on Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123 and to the Alzheimer's Association, 3959 Electric Road, Suite 357, Roanoke, Virginia 24018.
