Obituary for Ryan Vincent Turpin Ryan Vincent Turpin
26 Year-Old Rockbridge County Resident Dies At UVA Medical Center

Ryan Vincent Turpin departed this life on October 15, 2017 at the UVA Medical Center at the age of 26.

His final days were spent surrounded by his devoted family and friends.

Ryan's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. He possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He enjoyed music, trips to the beach and Walt Disney World, riding at Hoofbeats Therapeutic Riding Center and spending time with his family and extended family.

He was a member of Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church.

With Ryan's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although he will be missed everyday he will forever remain in our hearts.

Ryan is survived by his mother and step-father, Lisa Burke Turpin and Fred Bowyer, and his father, Warren V. Turpin; a devoted and caring sister, Brett Ellen Turpin; an uncle, Barry E. Burke; an aunt, Linda T. Frece and a great-uncle Francis Burke.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, F. Edwin and Margaret Ellen Burke and his paternal grandparents, William V. and Lucy T. Turpin.

A service of celebration of Ryan's life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 19, at Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church by the Rev Carl Moore and Rev. Patrick Lanaghan. He will be laid to rest with his maternal grandparents at the Timber Ridge A. R. Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington, Virginia.
