Betty P. Allen, 83, of Culpeper, Virginia, formerly from Glasgow, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community.

Born April 14, 1934 in Botetourt County, she was the daughter of the late Sherman Madison Painter and Minnie Markham Painter.

She was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church before moving to Northern Virginia to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Guy Allen, Jr.; and her brother, Russell M. Painter.

Surviving are her daughter, Deborah B. Griffith, and husband, Randolph; two grandchildren, Christopher S. Beard and Kimberly M. Thayer; five great-grandchildren, Noah, Darien, Elijah, Hayden and Addison.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 at Green Hill Cemetery by the Rev. William Thomas officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
