Clifton Forge Native Dies In Missouri At Age 74

Patty Sue Arnold, 74, of Stoutland, Missouri, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 in Mercy Hospital Springfield.

She was born Oct. 29, 1942, in Clifton Forge, Virginia, to Raymond G. and Cottie Clark Nicely.

On Jan. 18, 1962, she married Stanley E. Arnold.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Raymond "Sonny" Arnold, and a special friend, George Pargeon.

Patty was born and raised in Virginia. After she met and married Stanley, they traveled a lot while he was in the military. They lived in Texas, Washington, D.C. and Fort Leonard Wood.

Once Stanley retired, they made their home in the Stoutland area. Through the years, Patty had been a devoted homemaker and loving mother to her husband and family. She had also done babysitting in her home for a few years.

She had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of New Testament Baptist Church for many years. She had recently become a member of Grace Baptist Church in Richland.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley, of the home; two daughters, Tammy Sein and her husband, Anthony, of Lebanon; Crystal Ray and her husband, Robert, of Lebanon; three sons, George Arnold, of Rolla; James Arnold of Stoutland and Stanley Arnold, of Lebanon; 24 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Zernie Campbell of Clifton Forge, Va; Shelby White of Clifton Forge, Va. and Nancy Daniels and her husband, Bobby, of Iron Gate, Va.; several nieces and nephews; David Farris, who Patty raised as a son and her special dog, Mollie.

Funeral services for Patty Sue Arnold will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 in Holman-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin West officiating.

Burial will be in Stoutland Cemetery in Stoutland, under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

A memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
