Mary Katherine Paitsel Clark, age 62, of Tappahannock, Virginia, died Friday, November 3, 2017 at St. Marys Hospital in Richmond.

She was born in Clifton Forge, Virginia, on February 11, 1955, a daughter of the late Melvin Edward and Dorothy Burton Paitsel.

She was a 1974 graduate of Alleghany County High School and received both her BS and Masters of Education Degrees from Radford University.

She was also a retired 5th grade middle school teacher from the Essex County Public School System.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin Clark of Tappahannock; two sisters, Joanna Rollins of Columbia, Maryland, and Donalie Guin and her husband, Tommy of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her special friends, Lottie Brooks and Sidney Sullivan.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Paul Brokaw officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Active pallbearers will be Bradley Guin, Caleb Guin, Todd Guin, Tony Kay, Paul Kay, and David Kay.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at Nicely Funeral Home.
