Obituary for James Lee Wilcher James Lee Wilcher
Retired CSX Carman Dies At Age 87

James Lee Wilcher, age 87, of 706 Rose Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clifton Forge, Virginia.

He was born November 6, 1929 in Selma, Virginia, to the late Gilbert and Margie Campbell Wilcher.

He retired from CSX Transportation as a carman.

James was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, a member of the National Rifle Association, enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and was a Redskins fan. He was a loving and giving person who will be deeply missed by good friends and his church family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Furry Wilcher in November of 2001; a son, Rodney J. Wilcher; and three brothers.

He is survived by his two daughters, Karen Jordan and husband, Michael of California, Sheree Morris and husband, Dow of Clifton Forge; a daughter-in-law, Rita Wilcher of Texas; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and special friends Pat and John Hyler, and Betty Yeagley.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Pastor Teddy Bias officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Active pallbearers will be Peter Cardinal, D. J. Morris, Jamie Morris, Wayne Stogdale, Willie Stogdale, Kenny Wilcher, and Teddy Bias.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
