98 Year-Old Was Beaver Creek Baptist Church Member, 2004 Greenbrier County Belle

Helen Ida Brackenrich, 98, passed away peacefully November 8, 2017 at the Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg, West Virginia.

Born on May 6, 1919 at Dawson, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Delta Walkup Shortridge.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James D. Brackenrich; a son, Bobby Joe Brackenrich and a daughter, Anna Mae Kelley.

Helen was a member of the Crawley Homemakers, represented as the Greenbrier County Belle in 2004; member of the Rupert Women's Club, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Beaver Creek Baptist Church.

She loved to cook for family and friends; she enjoyed their companionship through love and laughter. She also enjoyed weaving, quilting with friends, traveling and being outdoors working. Helen's highlights of her travels were Switzerland, traveling the United States and spending time in Florida. She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and the great strength of love for family and friends.

Surviving are her sons, J.D. (Sandra) Brackenrich of Lewisburg, Jerry Lee (Norma) Brackenrich of Crawley; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Hester Frenzello of MD, Willie Young of Rupert, Wilma Gladwell of OH; brother, Dennis Gene of FL; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Beaver Creek Baptist Church at Kieffer with Pastor Roger Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10:00 until time of service.
