Obituary for Elva Davis "Sissy" Sollars Elva Davis "Sissy" Sollars
She Was Employed As A Caregiver

Mrs. Elva Davis "Sissy" Sollars, age 66, of Covington, VA, died Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the Woodlands Nursing Home, Clifton Forge, VA.

She was the wife of James Wayne Sollars.

Mrs. Sollars was born February 23, 1951, in Covington, VA, the daughter of the late James Brisco Forbes and Wilma Gann Forbes.

During her working career, Elva was employed as a caregiver. She attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Elva enjoyed playing bingo, making jewelry and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and sisters.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Sollars is survived by a daughter, Alisa Hayslett and husband, Brian, of Covington; a son, James Davis and wife, Traci, of Midlothian; three grandchildren, Drew M. Hayslett, Makenzi L. Davis and James “Will” Davis; four sisters, Carol Kinder, of Covington, Ruth Nicely and husband, Richard, of Clifton Forge, Teresa Elam and husband, Stanley, of Williamsburg and Donna Pullin and husband, Mike, of Hot Springs; four brothers, James William Forbes and wife, Ngyen, Jerry Forbes and wife, Irene, Delmas Forbes and wife, Gail and Jerome Forbes and wife, Robin; special friend, Martha Douglas and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sollars was preceded in death by a sister, Susie Forbes.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017, from the Chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Rickett, Corey Pullin, Patrick Pullin, Trent Douglas, Christopher Clark, Robert Jackson, Mike Pullin and Austin Douglas.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 12:00 noon until time service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence, 730 N. Beverly Avenue, Covington, VA.
