Mrs. Joyce Ann Mayo, age 77, formerly of Maple Lane, Covington, Virginia, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.

Since July, 2016, Joyce had made her home with her grandson, Josh and his wife, Krista at 6085 Uplands Road, Covington. She was the wife of the late Donald Lee Mayo, who preceded her in death in 2011.

Joyce was born April 23, 1940 in Covington, the daughter of the late Ward L. Caracoff and Lola Mae Vance Caracoff.

She and her husband, Don, owned and operated D&J Family Restaurant, located on Monroe Avenue, for over thirty-five years before its closing in 2016.

Mrs. Mayo is survived by her daughter, Carole Bowes and husband, Roger of White Sulphur Springs, WV; a son, Jeff Mayo and girlfriend, Tracy Rider, of Covington; two grandchildren, Ben Bowes and wife, Loran of Morgantown, WV and Josh Mayo and wife, Krista, of Covington; one great grandchild, Charlotte Bowes of Morgantown, WV; and her loving companion, Pinky, her poodle.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Mayo was preceded in death by her son, David in 2004.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Hartsfield officiating.

Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
