Obituary for Philip Jackson Kern, Jr. Philip Jackson Kern, Jr.
Philip Jackson Kern, Jr., age 65, died at his home in Flat Rock, NC.

Jack served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty years. During those years, he served two tours of duty in Germany, one in Korea, and was part of Desert Storm. Within the continental United States, Jack served in various places, including New Mexico, his last state-side assignment, and Colorado, where he met his wife.

Jack is survived by his mother, Nellie S. Kern, a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Dale Comer; two nieces, their husbands and children, and special friends, Bill and Kathy Warren.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Hirst Kern and his father, Philip J. Kern, Sr.

Jack was a faithful member of the Pinecrest Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 1790 Greenville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC. He was a son of the Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, Covington, VA.

Interment will be at Alleghany Memorial Park, Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Donnie Bowker officiating. VFW Post 1033 will conduct military rites. Loving Funeral Home is handling the arrangements; www.lovingfuneralhome1913.com.
