Obituary for Leighanda Loan Matheny Leighanda Loan Matheny
Retired Registered Nurse Dies At Age 58

Leighanda Loan Matheny, age 58, of 408 Center Court, Covington, Virginia, died Monday, November 27, 2017 at her residence.

She was born June 14, 1959 in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Frances Spicer Loan.

She was a retired registered nurse for the Merryfield Residence in Covington and also a member of the Central Advent Christian Church.

Leighanda enjoyed watching soaps and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband, Kenneth Wesley Matheny of Covington; a daughter, Trina Ellis and husband, Ryan of Surprise, Arizona; two sons, Allen Angle and wife, Tonya of Clifton Forge, and Wesley Matheny and wife, Amanda of Summerville, South Carolina; four sisters, Laurie Loan of Clifton Forge, Gloria Swieder, Yvonne Cason, and Linda Craighead; two brothers, Tommy Loan and Ralph Loan, both of Clifton Forge; ten grandchildren, Blake Angle, Brooklyn Angle, Aleigha Angle, Austin Angle, Daniel Angle, Wyatt Entzminger, Gavin Entzminger, Brycson Ryder, Lyundon Ryder, Davison Ryder; two special uncles, Kenny Spicer, and John Loan and wife, Donna of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Gene Ayers officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice, P.
