Carl Dexter Cunningham, Sr., 77, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, peacefully went to be with the Lord from his earthly home on Saturday, December 2, 2017.

Carl was born on January 23, 1940, in Hettie, Braxton County, WV, to the late Charles Ercel and Lula Ann Blagg Cunningham.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Kenneth, Argyle, and Dennis; sisters, Mary, Evalina Hyde, and Carolyn Biggers.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 58 years and 9 months, Dorothy Mae Street Cunningham; children, Tamera Fraley of White Sulphur Springs, Carl Cunningham, Jr. (Laura) of Croton, OH, and Deanna Shamsher (Taizoon) of Reynoldsburg, OH; grandchildren, Kristina Bigler (Ronald) of VA, Karyl Cunningham (James Hollingshead) of OH, Nafisa Shamsher (Bryce Kennedy) of OH, Ali Shamsher (Misty) of TX, Tiffany Brewster (Brad Burns) of WV, Jefferson Fraley (Mary Hurley) of WV; great grandchildren, Noah, Samuel, and Zoe Shamsher and coming in 2018, Winston Joseph Kennedy and baby, Bigler; sisters, Stella Meyer (Fred), and Pearl Langdon (Bill), all of OH; brothers, Charles (Elizabeth), Loy, Ernest (Cathy), and Michael (Judy) all of WV; brothers-in-law, Daniel Biggers of OH, Jesse Hyde of FL; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs.

Friends may also visit at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV on December 7, 2017 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday December 8, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until time of the funeral services at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Green Hill Cemetery at Green Hill, WV.
