Obituary for Grover A. Thompson, Sr. Grover A. Thompson, Sr.
Electrician, Plumber Was Ronceverte Resident

Grover A. Thompson, Sr., 82, of Ronceverte, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA.

Born on April 10, 1935, Grover was the son of the late Charles Anderson, Jr. and the late Almeda Thompson.

Grover was an electrician and plumber with Brown's Construction and retired from BF Goodrich.

He was a member of the Graystone Baptist Church and was a U. S. Army veteran.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Grover A. "Chip" Thompson, sisters, Lucille Myrick, and Gertrude Nelson.

Survivors include his wife, Emily Louise Bailey Thompson; daughters, Gail Suttle (Bill) of Clintonville, Pam Tate (Mark) of North Carolina; sons, Virgil Allen Freet (Kim) of Alabama, Edward Lee "Skip" Thompson (Robin) of Organ Cave; sisters, Shirley Sneed (Howard) of Rainelle; Tammy Turner (Rob) of Ronceverte, Patty Griffieth (Mike) of Ohio; brothers, Bill Thompson (Carolyn) of North Carolina; 9 grandchildren, Lindsey Dale, Christina Leon, Kimberly Aston, Chad Thompson, Mitchell Thompson, Jennifer Howard, Billy Suttle, Scott Tate, and Grant Tate; 6 great-grandchildren, Alexis Froe, Naomi Leon, Zachery Gross, Devin Gross, Jaxon Suttle, and Jason Suttle.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at Graystone Baptist Church in Ronceverte, WV, with Pastor Youel Altizer and Pastor Joey Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville.

Friends may gather on Friday, December 15, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
