Obituary for Veronica Marantino Dale Veronica Marantino Dale
St. Patrick's Catholic Church Member Was Former Virginia State Police Secretary

Veronica Marantino Dale, 82, of Lexington, Virginia, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 at Centra Health Hospice Center in Lynchburg.

She was born Dec. 23, 1934 in Springfield Gardens, L.I., N.Y., a daughter of the late Caesar Thomas and Anna Hoffman Marantino.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Paul Burton Dale; and a brother, Thomas F. Marantino.

Veronica was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church for 57 years, where she served on the Parish Council, Parish Life Committee and taught religious education.

She was employed as the first Area 39 secretary for the Virginia State Police, and she also served as secretary for Trinity United Methodist Church. Veronica was a member of the Red Hat Society and a canasta card group.

Surviving are her daughter, Paula Dale Mason; son, Thomas Michael Dale of Forest; grandsons, Evan Thomas and Andrew Paul Mason of Forest; sister-in-law, Betty Marantino, of Universal City, Texas; sister-in-law, Betty Kirby, of Waynesboro; and brother-in-law, James Dale, of Lexington.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 23, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Joseph D'Aurora officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in loving memory of Veronica to Centra Hospice, 2097 Langhorne Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
