Former Liberty House Nursing Home Cook Was Clifton Forge Native

Katherine Rayma Clark Chambers, age 88, of 917 Acacia Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at her residence.

She was born March 25, 1929 in Clifton Forge to the late Sylvester and Josephine Broughman Clark.

She was a cook for the former Liberty House Nursing Home and a member of Central United Methodist Church.

Her family was her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas William Chambers, and three brothers, Paul Richard Clark, Lloyd Clark, and Carl Clark.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Ernest Chambers of Clifton Forge; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Darlene Chambers of Covington, and Robert and Lorie Chambers of Clifton Forge; seven grandchildren, Gabrielle Chambers, Nathaniel Chambers, Brianna Chambers, Hannah Chambers, Merritt Scott Chambers, Kelly Chapman, and Bobbie Ann Chambers; a grandson, Zayden Dickson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor with Reverend Lynn Wright officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P. O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
