Obituary for Harold E. Meadows Harold E. Meadows
Iron Gate Resident Was H. O. Canfield Employee, Advent Christian Church Member

Harold E. Meadows, age 88, of Iron Gate, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 with family at his side.

He was an employee at H. O. Canfield in Iron Gate for over 30 years, was an active member and deacon of the Advent Christian Church in Iron Gate, and was a willing servant to anyone in need.

Harold enjoyed hunting, working in his garage, mowing grass, and most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is proceeded in death by his mother, Beatrice Meadows, his father, William Meadows, Sr.; a brother, William "Enemo" Meadows, Jr.; a sister, Beatrice Showalter; and a daughter, Donna Jean Shinault.

Harold is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mildred F. "Ginger" Meadows; three daughters, Virginia Washburn of Iron Gate, Susie Amos of Roanoke, and Teresa Knick of Montvale; a brother, Lewis Meadows of Virginia Beach; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his special caregivers, Mary Irving, Tasha Bolden, and the many he had over the last year and a half.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with the Reverend Victor Nicely and Reverend Edith Snedegar officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Covington. Pallbearers will be Rocky Washburn, Steven Keyser, Shawn Curtis, Josh Amos, Randy Meadows, and Ron Thurston. Honorary pallbearer will be David Shinault.

The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
