Alice Virginia Sloan died peacefully at her home in Lexington on January 12, 2018 at the age of 97.

She was born on April 21, 1920 in Rockbridge County to Andrew and Rose Watts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Thomas Sloan Sr. (husband), Thomas Sloan Jr. (son), three brothers and three sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Jarva A. Fields, and two brothers, Leroy Watts and Frances Watts; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at the First Baptist Church.
