Retired ARH Phlebotomist Dies At Age 59
Barbara Ann Mays Altizer, age 59, of 107 Circle H Lane, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at LewisGale Hospital – Alleghany, Low Moor.
She was born August 17, 1958 in Clifton Forge to the late Morris F. "Curley" Mays and Juanita Watson Mays.
She was a retired phlebotomist for Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor. She loved dogs and ducks, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Douglas Wayne Altizer of Clifton Forge; a step daughter, Mary Beth Altizer of Alabama; a step son, D. W. Altizer and wife, Heidi of Covington; four step grandchildren; and a number of cousins, including a special cousin, Patrick Lopez, who was like a son to her.
In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
