Danna Star King Downey, age 69, of 1725 Main Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Alleghany Health and Rehabilitation.

Danna was born January 29, 1948 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late John Clifford King, Sr. and Margaret Gooch King.

She was a homemaker throughout her life, and enjoyed traveling and watching cooking shows on TV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Rebecca "Becky Sue" Downey.

She is survived by her daughter, Dreama Darlene Downey of Clifton Forge; a sister, Kay Simmons of Millboro; two brothers, Walter Clifford King and wife, Mary of Hawaii, and John Clifford King, Jr. of Clifton Forge; a granddaughter, Shaina Downey; and her friends and nursing staff of Alleghany Health and Rehabilitation.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Pam Irvine officiating. Following the service, her body will be cremated. The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
