Lewisburg Resident Dies At Age 81

Phyllis Jean Adkins Richmond, 81, of Lewisburg, West Virginia passed away on February 8, 2018 after an extended illness at Summers County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Hilldale.

Born on December 31, 1936 at Judson, she was the daughter of the late William Brackenridge Adkins and Manilla Blanche Reed Adkins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charles in 2011; four brothers, Tom, Carl, Gerald and Lewis; one sister, Corabelle.

Phyllis was a member of the Ronceverte Baptist Church.

She was a former school bus driver for Summers County; she loved flowers and loved her grandsons.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra R. Hissom and Brian of Lincolnton, NC; a son, William A. "Bill" Richmond and Teresa of Rupert; grandchildren, Matthew Richmond of Rupert, Hunter Richmond of Bonifay, FL and Zane Hissom of Columbia, SC; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2018 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel, Rainelle with Pastor Andy Howdock officiating. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery at Creamery, Monroe Co., WV.

Friends may gather with the family from 12:00 noon until time of service at the chapel.

The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses aides and staff at Summers County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
