Kathleen Hanlon Stevens, 72, of Buena Vista, Virginia died Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at her home.

She was born August 13, 1945 in Chicago, a daughter of the late Julian Gregory Hanlon and Elizabeth Milchrist Hanlon.

Surviving are her children, Leonidas Paul Mundy of Buena Vista, Christine Mundy Chittum and husband, Johnny of Fairfield, Theresa Lee Mundy of Buena Vista; six grandchildren, Leigh Walters Kirchner and husband, Jon of Greenwood, Joseph Patrick Chittum of Fairfield, Matthew Paul Mundy of Charlottesville, Kristen Nicole Smiley, Christopher Richard Smiley, Elizabeth Leanne Smiley, and one great-grandson, all of Buena Vista; and one very special friend, James Stevens of Fairfield.

Kathy has left a great legacy of her love of nature and animals that she has handed down to her children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Harrison Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Schroeder officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
