Steven Craig Bane, 62, of Waynesboro, Virginia, formerly of Buena Vista, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at his residence.

Born May 13, 1955 in Lexington, he was a son of the late Greenlee L. Bane and Virginia Washington Bane.

He was also preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Sheila Garrett Bane.

Surviving are his son, Jason Bane and wife, Brandi of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Piper, Nathan, Alexis, and Jada; and special brother-in-law, Michael "Cookie" Garrett.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Waynesboro Rescue Squad.
