Raymond Arthur (Boodie) McKnight, 23, of 303 South Marion Avenue, Covington, Virginia died Monday, February 12, 2018 at Lewis Gale – Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor.

Mr. McKnight was born November 21, 1994 in Alleghany County, a son of Kathy M. Harris of Covington and the late Raymond Tyrone McKnight.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Warren F. Harris, Sr., and his paternal grandparents, Williie J. and Gertrude Bell McKnight.

He was a graduate of Covington High School, where he was a member of the band and choir. He was employed by Jackson River Enterprises. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his maternal grandmother, Helen C. Harris, of Covington; one brother, Franklin McKnight of Covington; four sisters, Kristine Harris of Roanoke, Ramanda McKnight of Roanoke, Kindra McKnight of Raleigh, NC and Kara McKnight of Covington; one aunt, Laura Waddy, of Roanoke; two uncles, Warren Harris, Jr., of Greenville, NC and Williie McKnight and his Wife, Myria of Clifton Forge and five nieces and nephews, Teandra Davis, Tenashia McKnight, Tavien Holloway, Tyion Holloway and Harris Brown.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Willie Cannon, Jr. officiating.

Interment will be made in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at First Baptist Church.
