Steven Garthwaite of Buena Vista passed away February 11, 2018 at the age of 62.

Steve was loved and admired by many within his church and community. He served with the Boy Scouts of America for more than 25 years. Steve volunteered for two years in the Oregon Search & Rescue Unit, two years in Japan as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, four years with the Division of Wildlife in Colorado, and almost six years at The Community Table in Lexington.

He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Sharon Garthwaite; daughters, Heather Francois and Shawna Carter; son, Tarran Garthwaite; sister, Dawn Francis; and his pride and joy, nine grandchildren.

He will be cremated and then buried in his beloved Colorado Rocky Mountains.
