Ruth Agnes McFaddin Deacon, 95, of Lexington, Virginia died Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Shenandoah Valley Health and Rehab Center.

She was born May 8, 1922, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of Herbert Preston McFaddin and Ada Palmer McFaddin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orell H. Deacon.

Agnes was a member of Lauderdale A. R. Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her children, Donnie Woods, Brenda Reese and husband, Wayne, and Palmer Deacon and wife, Donna; brother Ray McFaddin; grandchildren, Teresa Kaufman, Chris Woods, Scott Woods, Troy Plott, Deidre White and Preston Deacon; and several great and great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was conducted Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Benjamin W. Dowling III. Burial followed at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lauderdale A. R. Presbyterian Church, 300 S. Main St., Lexington, VA 24450.
