Obituary for William Calvin (Jeter) Cash William Calvin (Jeter) Cash
U. S. Navy Veteran Was Longtime VMI Barber, Avid Golfer

William Calvin (Jeter) Cash, 84, of Natural Bridge, Virginia passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at his home.

Born in Natural Bridge Station, he was the son of the late William Carlyle Cash and Martha Elizabeth Cash Slough.

Jeter was an avid golfer.

He served in the United States Navy, and later retired from the Natural Bridge Learning Center and was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church, a former member of Glasgow Life Saving Crew and First Aid.

He was a longtime barber at VMI and in the town of Glasgow. After being discharged from the Navy, he played baseball in the Mountain League and County League.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Arbutis "Boots" Cash Coleman.

Surviving Mr. Cash are his wife, of 59 years, Julia "Judy" Cash; daughters, Carolyn Cash Jones, of Roanoke, Stacey Cash Henderson and husband, John of Knoxville, Tenn.; a son, Michael Cash and wife, Lisa, of Buena Vista; grandchildren, Brandon, Amber, Cameron and Ashlyn Cash, Victoria, Matthew, and Lauren Jones; sister, Shirley Foster, and husband, Elmer; brother, Oakie Cash and wife, Jeanette; sister, Joyce Spence and husband, Freddie, Leslie Cash Sr., and Donna Carter.

A funeral service will be held at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 with the Rev. Bill Thomas, Rev. Jeremy Kilgore, and Rev. W. David Bain officiating. Interment will follow at Glasgow Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice or Glasgow Baptist Church.
